On Sunday afternoon, we crowned the Hydrofoil Freestyle World Champions only in the Men's division. As there are only 4 women registered to compete at this event, they did not compete for a World Championship title, as that requires a minimum of 6 participants.

It’s been an incredible week of action for this new, rapidly-evolving discipline, and we look forward to seeing even more incredible tricks next year, as each rider is really helping to push the sport further and further each season

For this final day at @superfoilbrasil we have the Hydrofoil Freestyle super session. The wind is teasing us today, but guys are out putting on the final show as they can perform in light wind conditions. Unfortunately, there is no live-stream today so we'll update you as soon as we’ll have the results from a Super Session.

GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Prea 2019

Preá is a three to four drive north of Fortaleza on the coastline of Ceará in northeastern Brazil. It’s a famously windy spot and it blows practically non-stop here during the season with pumping conditions pretty much on tap.

Wind forecast

Rancho do Peixe,

Prevailing winds

The further north you travel in Ceará the stronger the winds get and that’s certainly the case in Preá. It blows non-stop at at least 25 knots from the east or northeast (from the left) between July and January and is at its strongest from September to November.

Water conditions

Preá is a tidal spot with flat sections close to the beach, chop on the outside and a range of wave spots nearby that work better in the afternoons once the wind is up.

Competition history

The GKA has yet to visit Brazil but the first event is going down in November!
