The GKA is proud to officially announce the first-ever Youth Big Air Championships – a brand new and highly anticipated addition to our event calendar
This event will showcase the world’s top young kiteboarders in the discipline of Youth BIG AIR.
The emphasis in Germany will always be for Big Air tricks and the judging criteria that surrounds this discipline. The judging criteria mainly is oriented in going as high as possible, with amplitude, extremity and combining technical difficulty manoeuvres.
Wind conditions will play a factor in what can be performed however hooked in manoeuvres will have the emphasis and Big Air moves will be the goal of what the judges are looking for and the criteria that will be prioritised. A fair and consistent event that champions skill, style, and creativity within Youth Big Air and its development. Like our World Tour judging criteria each trick starts with a base score tied to its difficulty, from basic jumps to kiteloops. Style elements like grabs or board-offs can elevate your score, along with the criteria of extremity, height and amplitude, landings, technical difficulty and smoothness. Precision and control tie it all together — a perfectly executed “easier” trick can outshine a sloppy more complex move.
This will be a standalone youth Big Air competition, separate from freestyle world championships the following week in Tarifa
🎯 Divisions: Twintip Big Air for U14, U16, and U19 riders.
