Prevailing winds

The wind directions that are most common in the area are onshore winds blowing in from the Mediterranean, called Marin, or offshore winds coming down from the mountains, called Tramontane.

Water conditions

If Marin winds prevail, the competition will be held on the lake Pissevaches, and if the Tramontane blows the competition site will be on the Mediterranean coast in the ocean.

Competition history

This event was born from the history of the Junior European Cup Freestyle Kitesurfing which was the largest international youth event ever organized in terms of the number of participants. With 12 successful years under its belt, it was in 2016 that everything changed! Building on its success, the European competition became the Junior World Cup of Kitesurfing, giving it unprecedented international dimension. In its first four editions the event has experienced an unprecedented boom: nearly 80 participants at each competition, more than 20 nationalities and a global media impact!
