The penultimate (6th) round of the GKA Kite-Surf World Tour will be at Prea in Brazil. Get ready to see the world’s best riders throwing insane strapless freestlyle tricks at one of the the best kitespots in Brazil – Prea!

Tour leaders Airton Cozzolino and Carla Herrera-Oria are hoping to secure their 2018 World Titles and the Prea event is a crucial battle to win.

PREA – the perfect place to ride!

Préa is a small fishing village and known as one of the best and most windy places to kitesurf in northeast Brazil, blowing practically non-stop during the season with pumping conditions on tap.

Away from the action, this otherwise quiet and tranquil location provides the perfect environment to fully relax and enjoy unforgettable moments, both on and off the water.

You’ll find Preá three to four hours drive north of Fortaleza, on the coastline of Ceará in northeastern Brazil.

+ 15 km long sandy beach and lots of open space on the water
+ Prea has the most reliable wind for kitesurfing in all of Brazil

Prevailing winds

As you travel north along the coast through Ceará state the stronger the winds gets. That’s certainly the case in Preá, where it blows seemingly non-stop, reaching at least 25 knots from the east or northeast (the left) in the afternoons from July all the way through the season until January. The wind is strongest from September to November.

Water conditions

Preá is a tidal spot with flat sections close to the beach, chop on the outside and a range of wave spots close by that work better in the afternoons once the wind is up.

This is the first GKA event in Preá.
