GKA partnership with iconic lifestyle brand showcases apparel to worldwide kitesurfing audience

The GKA Kite World Tour is delighted to unveil a new tie-up with the renowned sports-focused brand, Brunotti. The lifestyle brand has more than 40 years experience producing unrivalled hardware and soft goods for a range of sports.

Brunotti will provide the GKA crew members with branded apparel that will be seen on livestream screens and sun-kissed beaches across the world as they front the planet’s biggest and most exciting kiteboarding events.

The GKA x Brunotti alliance will showcase the brand’s clothing as part of the exciting show that is an integral part of the battle for kiteboarding’s most sought-after crownsβ€”in Big Air, Freestyle and Kite-Surf.

Whether it is the truly breathtaking action of Big Air Twin-tip competition in Gran Canaria, Spain, Kite-Surf contests in the epic waves of Cape Verde’s Ponta Preta, or Freestylers throwing down in Brazil’s unmatched lagoons, Brunotti’s distinctive logo will be front and centre.

GKA x Brunotti is a marriage of shared values. Both brands highlight their full commitment to “sustainability”β€”listing it among their highest priorities. Each regards it as a privilege to have the ocean as their playground and do all in their power to protect it now and for future generations.

Conserving ocean environment

The GKA uses its high profile and the star-power of world-class kiteboarding athletes to raise awareness among younger generations. During stops on the globe-trotting Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour, it conducts ocean protection seminars and school visits, and hosts ocean and beach clean-ups with the goal of eliminating single-use plastics and conserving our environment.

For its part, Netherlands-based Brunotti is equally committed to minimising its impact on the environment in a host of ways across the board.

Many of its soft goods, like boardshorts and swimshorts, are made from a high proportion of recycled materials, and targets aim to increase that percentage moving forward.

Brunotti limits the impact of its packaging by shipping in bulk, reusing cardboard boxes at its CO2 neutral warehouse, while all its polybags are made of recycled plastics, to give just a taste of the lengths the brand goes to.

β€˜World-class standards’

Dr JΓΆrgen Vogt, CEO of the GKA, hailed the partnership as a big step up in the presentation of kiteboarding.

“We at the GKA and Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour are delighted to team-up with a storied and iconic brand like Brunotti,” said Dr Vogt. “Our highly-respected platform, speaking to kiteboarders the world over, will show Brunotti in the best possible light.”

Henk Bergsma, CEO of Brunotti, said this partnership represents Brunotti’s commitment to further push and stand behind the sport.

“We are thrilled to join forces with the GKA, the leading authority in the kitesurfing world,” he said. “With over 40 years of experience, our brand is dedicated to provide top-quality apparel that meet the world-class standards set by the GKA.”
