The first double event of the GKA Kite World Tour 2019 season began today at the Kite World Cup Tarifa, which will see both the Freestyle and Kite-Surf discipline riders compete throughout the week. Over 70 riders have registered, so it’s a massive week at one of kiteboarding’s most important hubs.
The event livestream ran for an hour, setting the scene and you can find all the official updates HERE, including heat ladders, video, photos of the day and a live ticker with all the important bite size updates and more.

First order of business today (Tuesday) was registration for the Freestyle riders, from 9 – 11am local time, which saw the field of 31 men and 10 women confirm their participation. Click here to see the Freestyle event gallery, updated all week.
With the first skipper’s meeting of the week completed at 13.00 noon and the rest of the day was scheduled for a potential start for the Freestyle discipline. Tomorrow the event focus switches to the Kite-Surf riders all day.
