LIVE TICKER DAY 6 (FINAL DAY – SUNDAY)

19.40 Still on hold… the current situation from the day  – click here

18.55 As you can see on the stream, the event is on hold after a dramatic drop in wind, just ahead of the start of the Freestyle women’s second semi-final. If that runs, after that, we’re back with the men’s second set of strapless quarter finals, that will see Toni Ciliberto V Jan Marcos Riveras and Anderson Reboucas V Airton Cozzolino. We’re just two heats away from reaching the final stage for the women’s Freestyle and the men’s Strapless Freestyle, while the men’s Freestyle are at the semi final stage! Come on wind!

18.22 The women’s Freestyle semi-final has just been paused during a wind shift, so there will be a delay before the start of the men’s second set of strapless quarter finals, that will see Toni Ciliberto V Jan Marcos Riveras and Anderson Reboucas V Airton Cozzolino.

18.00 Confirmation of quarter final wins for both Simon Joosten from Barbados (against Kiko Roig Torres) and for Mitu Monteiro (against Pedro Matos). On the stream now, women’s Freestyle round 2 heat 5. See Freestyle live scores here!

17.50 We are live with a huge day of cross discipline action. Earlier this afternoon we had Freestyle running up to men’s semi-final stage and now we’re rocking back and forth between women’s Freestyle and men’s Kite-Surf strapless freestyle! Try to keep up! But you’re on the right page to check out all the STRAPLESS FREESTYLE live heats below!

15.25 – AS WE ARE NOW SWITCHING TO THE FREESTYLE DISCIPLINE, PLEASE CLICK HERE TO JOIN US ON THE FREESTYLE LIVE EVENT PAGE!

15.20: 12B AIRTON COZZOLINO V RALPH BOELEN: The machine gun Cozzolino fired early, kite loop tick tack, kite loop, tick tack, backside 3 handle-pass getting highest score of the event so far (8.97)… he’s on another level today. Spectators knocked into silence. Front shovit as if he was dreaming. Ralph also shocked into stasis. 38.52 heat. Wow. Blown away. Oh and just time before the end for a 9.57 shifty frontside 3. Boom. 42.73 heat score!

15.15:  12 A DAVID MARIN V ANDERSON REBOUCAS: Brazilian Anderson was impressive yesterday, finding more height and amplitude. Spaniard Marin kept his heat tight yesterday but it was the Brazilian who powered through. He’s riding really well.

15.00 11B JAN MARCOS V NIKOLAI ABADJIEV: Whoa Jan Marcos is so tidy. Back loop kite loop transitions on tap and like a breeze. Looking powered – no wonder – switched up to a 13m Rebel, a notably large size for this discipline. Light winds still hovering around 15 knots, but this is competition and a world title is on the line at the end of the season. Gotta make it work. Abadjiev struggled to get out of the 5 point trick category – good rider but Jan Marcos proved very classy indeed. Kite loops, front roll, back roll board offs… banging. 34.2 heat score – joint highest of the event so far, along with Kiko from yesterday. JMR through to the quarters.

14.45 First win of the day to chiller Cillerberto! He’s into the quarter finals!

14.30 And we are running with the first action of the day, the re-started heat from yesterday: 11A – Men’s Kite-Surf round 2 single elimination, between Italian’s Toni Cilliberto and Francesco Cappuzo. Scroll down to watch the livestream and further down to check out the livescores and heat ladders.

14.15 Condition update – cross-onshore Poniente winds around 12 knots and building steadily. You’ll see the first possible start updates on the livestream feed below.

13.10 Friday live daily show… is now live! Scroll down and hit play!

11.50 Wind is looking really positive already, switching cross-onshore and stiffening in strength, sir! Catch up on yesterday’s news wrap-up here!

11am – Friday. Good morning everyone. We arrived at the beach this morning to a similar wind set-up as we experienced yesterday, which saw the thermal kick in nicely by 2pm. Local experts think we should see more action today! Skipper’s meeting coming up, more info soon.
