Official countdown for the GKA Distance Battle

The most eagerly anticipated kite competition of the year is just over a week away!

The GKA Distance Battle, a first of its kind, online, kitesurfing competition is about to start. Over the last month athletes from around the world have been giving it their all, riding their home spots and recording the action, ready to be used as heat entries for the GKA Distance Battle.

The waiting is finally over, on Tuesday 22nd of September we will see the start of the online competition and the beginning of the live action. Get ready to see your favourite GKA athletes back on the water doing what they live for! The competition will be broadcast online via the GKA Distance Battle event page, with running commentary from Jo Ciastula and feedback from the official GKA judges team, along with live interviews with riders.

For 2021, GKA is proud to host the Youth Freestyle and Kite-surf World Tour. This new tour was brought to life to offer a stage for our young talent and upcoming riders. The GKA's mission is to continually foster the development of riders and provide opportunities for growth and the Youth Freestyle World Tour does just that.  The purpose of the Youth World Tour is to provide young competitors an arena to prove their skills through a series of international events. This enables them to get used to the competition formats and prepare them for the GKA International Tour down the road.
