Qatar Airways GKA Youth Kite World Cup Tarifa is on This Week

Running 8 – 11th September the world’s best young riders will compete in the Freestyle and Kite-Surf disciplines at one of kiteboarding’s greatest competition locations, Tarifa! 

In the Freestyle discipline, GKA Rookie of the Year 12 year-old German Finn FlΓΌgel is set to see if he can complete an amazing year, after already competing at elite level in the GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup Colombia and the GKA Big Air World Championships hydrofoil division. Another Rookie of the Year contender, Camille Losserand, is one to look out for in the women’s Strapless Kite-Surf competition. 

The truth, however, is the fleet is stacked with talent from 13 nations.

DAY ONE 
Thursday 8th September

The opening day of the Youth Kite World Cup in Tarifa saw a Poniente wind blowing into the high teens get the competition underway at Valdevaqueros.

U14 Freestyle and Strapless have concluded, with an incredible performance from Finn Flugel, with the highest score of the day with a perfectly executed 317 scoring a 9.3 from the judges.

DAY TWO 
Friday 8th September

More action from Valdevaqueros for both the twin-tip freestyle and strapless freestyle riders across age categories from U14 to U21.
