Results! Qatar Airways GKA Youth Kite World Cup Tarifa

Tumbao, Tarifa, Spain: 8 – 11th September 2022 

After four days of varied conditions including both the famous Poniente and Levante wind directions to test the riders, the final results are in, spanning eight podiums across several age groups in both Freestyle and Strapless-Freestyle disciplines.

In total 62 riders from 14 nations competed at this GKA Youth Kite World Cup Tarifa.

The winners in the Kite-Surf (Strapless Freestyle) discipline are now official GKA Youth Kite World Champions. The Freestyle riders now look towards their final event coming up at St. Pierre La Mer in France, 29 September – 02 October, to decide the championship titles.

DAY ONE 
Thursday 8th September

The opening day of the Youth Kite World Cup in Tarifa saw a Poniente wind blowing into the high teens get the competition underway at Valdevaqueros.

U14 Freestyle and Strapless have concluded, with an incredible performance from Finn Flugel, with the highest score of the day with a perfectly executed 317 scoring a 9.3 from the judges.

DAY TWO 
Friday 9th September

More action from Valdevaqueros for both the twin-tip freestyle and strapless freestyle riders across age categories from U14 to U21.

DAY THREE 
Saturday 10th September

After a longer wait, the wind finally switched to Levante and picked up for the U16 & U19 Freestyle. Plus take a look at the event site at Tumbao.
